The Trinity 学校心理学 Program provides foundations in best practices using research-based knowledge to support educators and students. Graduates of the program are eligible for national certification by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), the largest national association that supports and guides the profession.

The first in the two-course sequence in the assessment of cognitive and academic functioning. The series begins with a study of the theory of intelligence and achievement testing. Administration of individual assessment instruments with a report is then taught and continues into the second semester sequel.

A study of test and interview-based assessment methods to assess psychosocial development. The focus is on how diagnostic formulation is used to prepare comprehensive intervention plans. Intensive training in administration, scoring, and interpretation of projective personality tests.

The Trinity 学校心理学 Program operates within a cohort model with students progressing through a sequence of courses as a group. The sequence begins with foundational knowledge and progresses to applied skill development. 每个学生小组在秋季入学，并在三年内毕业. The third year is an internship which is a supervised practice experience. Because students remain with the same small class over the two years of course work, a sense of community and support is fostered that usually continues into students' professional lives after the completion of the program.

The San Antonio community provides an important setting for students’ educational experiences. The graduate assistantship places students in an educational setting from their first day in the program for twenty-four hours per week during the school year. After two years in the program, students advance to a third-year, paid full-time internship.
Networking
The Trinity Education Department sends third-year interns to the Texas Association of School Psychologists’ annual meeting where students network with practicing school psychologists.
